Monitoring Children's Progress

Teachers keep records of the progress of each child and their levels of achievement.

Teachers assess children’s learning in a number of ways: through observation, discussion, questioning, assessing children’s written work and through formal testing. Children are also encouraged to respond to their own and other’s learning. On entry into Nursery and/or Reception, and at the end of Reception class, children are assessed in seven main areas of learning. At the end of each year you will be given a report on the progress your child has made. There will also be comments on general attitude, attendance and behaviour within school.
