In association with the National College for School Leadership Brindishe Schools and John Ball School offer the Middle Leadership Development Programme, a professional development programme for teachers in middle leadership roles in schools.
We have two trained, fully accredited facilitators who can deliver the Middle Leaders Development programme to small groups of Middle Leaders / Subject Postholders and Curriculum Leaders in Lewisham and our neighborouring boroughs.
The programme is delivered locally - at Brindishe and John Ball Schools and delivered flexibly to meet the needs of local schools.
Through this programme middle leaders develop their knowledge of the leadership of teaching and learning and the leadership skills needed to close achievement gaps. Activities include face-to-face sessions, cutting edge research, specially designed think-pieces and e-learning modules with tailored support offered through the programme. Our facilitators adapt materials to the needs of the group and ensure the programme is personalised to match your schoo contexts and issues.
The middle leaders work with a leadership coach, identified from within their own school, and with this support they undertake a leadership challenge.
This challenge consists of a project that aims to close an identified achievement gap in their own school. The participants complete a 360° diagnostic, identify gaps in their current repertoire of skills and use the challenge as an opportunity to develop these skills, working with staff in their own school to lead teaching and learning and close the gap.
The course fee is £200 which covers the cost of materials, refreshments and NCSL trained facilitator time.
Participants will also need to be released by their own school for six full-day sessions, spread across the year. Supply cover costs must be met by the school.
